Some projects just have a way of finding you, and this was one of them. I first came across The Reverend Hubert Summer Cup while at Daylesford, and was instantly drawn in by the vibrant branding and the idea of a locally made summer cup, right here in the Cotswolds. But it wasn’t just the bold colours and beautiful design that hooked me – it was the story. The history of the Rev himself and the passion behind the brand, lovingly continued by Tom, his great-grandson.

Tom and I got chatting, and before I knew it, I was snapping some photos just for fun. One thing led to another, and soon, he asked me to create a reel to capture the essence of the Rev Hubert Winter Gin Punch, just in time for the winter season. This wasn’t just about showcasing a drink; it was about bringing the Rev’s story and legacy to life.
Tom wanted a visually rich, engaging reel that highlighted the warmth, sophistication, and heritage of the Winter Gin Punch, while staying true to the playful spirit of the brand. He gave me complete creative control, trusting me implicitly to shape the vision.
The CREATIVE APPROACH
With full creative freedom (the absolute dream!), I set to work on a concept that blended tradition with a modern, stylish feel.

- I created storyboards to map out the flow of the reel, ensuring each shot would bring out the luxurious, warming character of the Winter Gin Punch.
- Specific props played a key role – Tom wanted a Swiss punch bowl with a burner to bring an element of old-world charm, with candlelight adding to the cosy winter atmosphere.
- We paired the visuals with a cool jazz soundtrack that struck the perfect balance between sophistication and playfulness, mirroring the brand’s effortless charm.
- The reel was filled with slow-motion pours, rich close-ups, and that unmistakable Reverend Hubert branding, ensuring the drink looked every bit as indulgent as it tastes.
- Alongside the reel, I captured a set of images to complement the campaign, ensuring Tom had a suite of visuals to use across his social platforms.
THE RESULTS
The final reel was a celebration of the Rev, craft and pure winter indulgence. It blended cocktail creation with sensory detail and dynamic movement, making the Rev Hubert Winter Gin Punch feel like a must-have for the season. And the best part?
